• Investigations revealed that Vaishnavi Dairy fraudulently secured tenders in the name of AR Dairy using forged documents. Discrepancies in pricing and the supply chain were also identified, as Vaishnavi Dairy purchased ghee at ₹355 per kilogram but sold it to AR Dairy at ₹319.80 per kg.
• The SIT examined the production capacity of AR Dairy and the quantity of milk produced, questioning why Vaishnavi Dairy supplied ghee despite AR Dairy having an agreement with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
• The case originated from a complaint filed on September 25 last year, alleging that adulterated ghee was used in the preparation of laddus at the temple. The Supreme Court intervened in October and formed a five-member SIT under the supervision of the CBI Director to investigate the matter.
• AR Dairy had won the contract to supply 10 lakh kilograms of ghee to TTD during the previous YSRCP government. The first two consignments, delivered on July 6 and 17, were rejected by TTD after failing quality checks.
• Suspecting foul play, TTD sent ghee samples to the National Dairy Development Board in Gujarat, where tests confirmed the presence of animal fat in the supplied product.
