• Under the Jal Jeevan Mission the government makes sure to provide free tap water access in an adequate quantity to the rural people and also committed to provide financial and technical assistance to the states to implement Jal Jeevan Mission whenever it needed.
• As per the data provided by World Health Organization, India needs 30 to 50 lpcd water requirement per capita for drinking and other purposes.
• To recognise this, the government had made sure under the Jal Jeevan Mission that the minimum service delivery was fixed to 55 lpcd and states have rights to increase the limit as per the water resources available in that particular state.
