• Iran accused the U.S. of breaking the ceasefire on Tuesday and warned that it was fully ready to respond after overnight U.S. strikes targeted Iranian missile sites and boats allegedly laying mines. This raised fears that the proposed agreement to end the war could fail.
• Iranian state media reported explosions overnight in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, which is located near the Strait of Hormuz.
• Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps claimed that it had shot down a U.S. drone that entered Iranian airspace and had also fired at an F-35 fighter jet.
• The UK maritime safety monitoring agency UKMTO reported that a tanker near Oman was damaged at the waterline because of what it described as an “external explosion”. However, both the ship and crew were reported safe.
• Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the “U.S. terrorist army”, despite the ceasefire, had continued what it called illegal and unjustified actions. It also claimed that the U.S. carried out a serious ceasefire violation in the Hormozgan region during the last 48 hours.
• The ministry further said that Tehran would not ignore any hostile action and would fully defend the Iranian nation.
• Following the announcement of the new U.S. attacks, Brent crude oil prices increased by nearly 3%.
