  • She directed district administrations to prioritize malaria cases and ensure snake bite anti-venom is available at primary health centres and medical colleges.
  • Several areas in Kolkata were waterlogged on Thursday due to cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh.

  • The Chief Minister has repeatedly claimed that the floods caused by the DVC water release are “man-made”.
  • BJP general secretary Jagannath Chattopadhyay countered her claim, stating that floods were caused by water released from barrages and dams within the State, not by the DVC.
  • Chattopadhyay presented a letter from the State Additional Chief Secretary, dated September 17, which informed the State about the upcoming DVC water release, challenging the CM’s statement that the government wasn’t notified in advance.
