‘Vocabulary’
- Bluster (noun)
Meaning: loud, aggressive, or indignant talk with little effect. (धमकी)
Synonyms: ranting, hectoring, thundering
Antonyms: tranquillity, quietude
Sentence: I believe deeply in persuasion, not bluster.
- Pompous (adj.)
Meaning: affectedly and irritatingly grand, solemn, or self-important. (गर्वित)
Synonyms: self-important, imperious, overbearing
Antonyms: egoless, humble, modest
Sentence: He appears pompous but is a good man underneath.
- Inopportune (adj.)
Meaning: occurring at an inconvenient or inappropriate time. (बेवक़्त)
Synonyms: untimely, ill-timed, badly timed
Antonyms: timely, expected
Sentence: They arrived at an inopportune moment.
- Ennoble (verb)
Meaning: give (someone) a noble rank or title. (उदात्त बनाना)
Synonyms: aggrandize, canonize, elevate
Antonyms: abase, degrade, demean
Sentence: The heroic actions of firefighters during the terrorist attack did much to ennoble the profession of fire fighting in the public mind.
- Masculinity (noun)
Meaning: qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of men. (बहादुरता)
Synonyms: virility, manliness, maleness
Antonyms: muliebrity, effeminacy
Sentence: Handsome, muscled, and driven, he’s a prime example of masculinity.
- Quell (verb)
Meaning: put an end to (a rebellion or other disorder), typically by the use of force. (शांत करना)

- Blarney (noun)
Meaning: talk that aims to charm, pleasantly flatter, or persuade. (चापलूसी)

- Penchant (noun)
Meaning: a strong or habitual liking for something or tendency to do something. (लगन)
Synonyms: liking, fondness, preference
Antonyms: apathy, dislike, distaste
Sentence: She has a penchant for Indian food.
- Fomented (verb)
Meaning: instigate or stir up (an undesirable or violent sentiment or course of action). (भड़काना)
Synonyms: instigate, incite, provoke
Antonyms: allay, calm, settle
Sentence: They accused him of fomenting political unrest.
- Raucous (adj.)
Meaning: making or constituting a disturbingly harsh and loud noise. (कर्कश)
Synonyms: harsh, strident, screeching
Antonyms: sedate, sober, quiet
Sentence: I heard the raucous call of the crows.
