‘Vocabulary’
- Delinquency (noun)
Meaning: minor crime, especially that committed by young people. (अपराध)
Synonyms: crime, wrongdoing, criminality
Antonyms: compliance, goodness, morality
Sentence: There is a high rate of juvenile delinquency in this area.
- Stoical (adj.)
Meaning: enduring pain and hardship without showing one’s feelings or complaining. (अडिग)
Synonyms: uncomplaining, patient, forbearing
Antonyms: complaining, fed up, impatient
Sentence: His great-grandfather had been a dedicated and stoical traveler.
- Beseech (verb)
Meaning: ask (someone) urgently and fervently to do something; implore; entreat. (प्रार्थना करना)
Synonyms: implore, beg, entreat
Sentence: I beseech you to forgive me.
- Squander (verb)
Meaning: waste (something, especially money or time) in a reckless and foolish manner. (गंवाना)
Synonyms: waste, misspend, misuse
Antonyms: conserve, preserve
Sentence: He didn’t squander his money on flashy cars or bikes.
- Inconceivable (adj.)
Meaning: not capable of being imagined or grasped mentally; unbelievable. (समझ से बाहर)
Synonyms: beyond belief, unbelievable, extremely difficult to believe
Antonyms: believable, cogitable, conceivable
Sentence: She found the idea quite inconceivable.
- Embezzle (verb)
Meaning: steal or misappropriate (money placed in one’s trust or belonging to the organization for which one works). (हड़प लेना)
Synonyms: steal, rob, pilfer
Sentence: He embezzled thousands of dollars from the charity.
- Denizen (noun)
Meaning: an inhabitant or occupant of a particular place. (निवासी)
Synonyms: inhabitant, resident, native
Antonyms: transient, non-resident, guest
Sentence: Deer, foxes, and squirrels are among the denizens of the forest.
- Trailblazing (adj.)
Meaning: introducing new ideas or methods; innovative or pioneering. (पथप्रदर्शक)
Synonyms: pioneering, progressive, innovative
Antonyms: traditional, conventional
Sentence: The journalist, businesswoman, and author spoke about their trailblazing career.
- Redact (verb)
Meaning: edit (text) for publication. (संपादन करना)
Synonyms: redraft, revamp, revise
Sentence: You can redact a word simply by selecting it with your mouse cursor.
- Epitome (noun)
Meaning: a person or thing that is a perfect example of a particular quality or type. (प्रतीक)
Synonyms: personification, embodiment, incarnation
Sentence: She looked the epitome of elegance and good taste.
