  1. Bellicose (adj.)

Meaning: feeling or displaying eagerness to fight (आक्रामक)

Synonyms: aggressive, militant, hostile

Antonyms: peaceful, peaceable, nonaggressive

Sentence: The general made some bellicose statements about his country’s military strength.

  1. Jettisons (verb)

Meaning: to get rid of as useless or unwanted (हटा देना)

Synonyms: discards, unloads, dumps

Antonyms: adopts, embraces, uses

Sentence: He can combine tenderness and humor without becoming mawkish.

  1. Neophyte (noun)

Meaning: a person who has recently been persuaded to join a religious sect (नौसिखिया)

Synonyms: newcomer, recruit, novice

Antonyms: expert, master, professional

Sentence: A neophyte in politics

  1. Vicinity (noun)

Meaning: an adjoining region or space (आस-पास)

Synonyms: neighborhood, surroundings, environs

Antonyms: distance, whole, remoteness

Meaning: a falling short of an essential or desirable amount or number (कमी)

Synonyms: shortage, lack, deficiency

Antonyms: abundance, plenty, adequacy

  1. Waggish (adj.)

Meaning: tending to or exhibiting reckless playfulness (चंचल)

Synonyms: mischievous, wicked, playful

Antonyms: solemn, grave, stern

Sentence: a waggish disposition that often got him into trouble as a child

  1. Epitome (noun)

Meaning: a short statement of the main points (प्रतीक)

Synonyms: summary, brief, outline

Antonyms: expansion, amplification, enlargement

Sentence: She looked the epitome of elegance.

  1. vagary (noun)

Meaning: a sudden impulsive and apparently unmotivated idea or action (सनक)

Synonyms: notion, whimsy, caprice

Sentence: The vagaries of a rather eccentric, elderly lady
