‘Vocabulary’
- Disseminate (verb)
Meaning: spread (something, especially information) widely. (प्रसार)
Synonyms: spread, circulate, distribute
Antonyms: conceal, enshroud, hide
Sentence: Health authorities should foster good practice by disseminating information.
- Obtrude (verb)
Meaning: become noticeable in an unwelcome or intrusive way. (हस्तक्षेप करना)
Synonyms: intrude, meddle, interfere
Antonyms: disregard, ignore, neglect
Sentence: I don’t want to obtrude upon her privacy.
- Quantifiable (adj.)
Meaning: able to be expressed or measured as a quantity. (मात्रात्मक)
Synonyms: calculate, cipher, compute
Sentence: The number of websites on the Internet is not quantifiable.
- Prognosticating (verb)
Meaning: foretell or prophesy (an event in the future). (भविष्यसूचक)
Synonyms: forecast, predict, prophesy
Sentence: Using current trends to prognosticate what the workplace of the future will be like.
- Topple (verb)
Meaning: overbalance or become unsteady and fall slowly. (गिर पड़ना)
Synonyms: fall, tumble, overturn
Antonyms: get up, rise, stand
Sentence: A stack of plates swayed and began to topple over.
- Sufficed (verb)
Meaning: be enough or adequate. (पर्याप्त)
Synonyms: be enough, be sufficient, be adequate
Antonyms: inadequately, insufficiently
Sentence: One warning sufficed to stop her from doing it.
- Contrite (adj.)
Meaning: feeling or expressing remorse or penitence; affected by guilt. (पछताया हुआ)
Synonyms: remorseful, repentant, penitent
Antonyms: impenitent, remorseless, unapologetic
Sentence: She was contrite the morning after her angry outburst.
- Concocted (verb)
Meaning: existing only in the imagination. (मनगढ़ंत)
Synonyms: artificial, fabricated, imaginary
Antonyms: genuine, natural, real
Sentence: John concocted an elaborate excuse for being late.
- Accreditation (noun)
Meaning: the granting of power to perform various acts or duties (प्राधिकार)
Synonyms: authorization, delegation, empowerment
Sentence: The only body empowered with the accreditation of medical schools in the state.
- Forlorn (adj.)
Meaning: pitifully sad and abandoned or lonely. (अनाथ)
Synonyms: unhappy, sad, miserable
Antonyms: cheerful, accompanied, hopeful
Sentence: She was forlorn when she found out the trip had been canceled.
