‘Vocabulary’
- Indefensible (adj.)
Meaning: not justifiable by argument. (असमर्थनीय)
Synonyms: inexcusable, unjustifiable, unjustified
Antonyms: defensible, excusable, forgivable
Sentence: The war is morally indefensible.
- Ebb (verb)
Meaning: (of an emotion or quality) gradually lessen or reduce. (अवनति)
Synonyms: diminish, dwindle, wane
Antonyms: ascent, rise, upswing
Sentence: Every tide has its ebb.
- Ascendancy (noun)
Meaning: occupation of a position of dominant power or influence. (प्रभुत्व)
Synonyms: dominance, domination, supremacy
Antonyms: impotence, impotency, powerlessness
Sentence: He slowly gained ascendancy in the group.
- Pagan (noun)
Meaning: a person holding religious beliefs other than those of the main world religions. (नास्तिक)

- Portentous (adj.)
Meaning: of or like a portent. (अमंगल)
Synonyms: ominous, warning, foreshadowing
Antonyms: unthreatening, auspicious, benign
Sentence: There was nothing portentous or solemn about him.
- Gluttonous (adj.)
Meaning: excessively greedy. (लोभी)
Synonyms: greedy, gourmandizing, voracious
Antonyms: satiated, satisfied, stuffed
Sentence: He is a selfish, gluttonous and lazy person.
- Bereave (verb)
Meaning: be deprived of a loved one through a profound absence, especially due to the loved one’s death. (वंचित करना)
Synonyms: deprive, dispossess, strip
Sentence: The plane crash bereaved her of her husband.
- Inimitable (adj.)
Meaning: so good or unusual as to be impossible to copy; unique. (अनोखी)
Synonyms: unique, distinctive, idiosyncratic
Antonyms: common, familiar, ordinary
Sentence: He entertained us in his inimitable style.
- Valorous (adj.)
Meaning: showing great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. (वीरतापूर्ण)
Synonyms: bold, brave, courageous
Antonyms: coward, ungallant, unheroic
Sentence: The warriors were very valorous in the battle.
- Troth (noun)
Meaning: faith or loyalty when pledged in a solemn agreement or undertaking. (विश्वास)
Synonyms: commitment, agreement, faith
Antonyms: disloyalty, faithlessness, falseness
Sentence: This troth seems to be self-evident.
