  1. Douse (verb)

Meaning: pour a liquid over (भिगोना)

Synonyms: drench, soak, saturate

Antonyms: dry, drain, dehydrate

Sentence: He doused the car with gasoline and set it on fire.

Meaning: a very large or fiercely burning fire (ज्वाला)

Meaning: encourage or promote the development of something (प्रोत्साहन देना)

Meaning: many and various (विविध)

Synonyms: many, numerous, multiple

Antonyms:  one, single, less

  1. Footing (noun)

Meaning: the basis on which something is established or operates (आधार)

Synonyms: basis, base, foundation

Antonyms: acme, peak, topmost

Sentence: I lost my footing and tumbled down the stairs.

  1. Congregate (verb)

Meaning: gather into a crowd or mass (एकत्र)

Synonyms: assemble, gather, collect

Antonyms: separate, scatter, disperse

Sentence: Some 4000 demonstrators had congregated at a border point

  1. Envision (verb)

Meaning: imagine as a future possibility (कल्पना करना)

Synonyms: visualize, imagine, envisage

Antonyms: disregard, ignore, look away

Sentence: They didn’t envision any problems with the new building.

  1. Augment (verb)

Meaning: make (something) greater by adding to it (बढ़ाना)

Synonyms: increase, make larger, make bigger

Antonyms: decrease, reduce, demolish

Sentence: He augmented his summer income by painting houses

  1. Tussle (noun)

Meaning: a vigorous struggle or scuffle, typically in order to obtain or achieve something (संघर्ष)

Synonyms: scuffle, fight, struggle

Antonyms: peace, accord, calm

Sentence: After quite a tussle, I finally wrenched the letter from him.

  1. Statutory (adj.)

Meaning: required, permitted or enacted by statute (वैधानिक/क़ानूनी)

Synonyms: lawful, legal, judicial

Antonyms: illegal, illicit, unlawful

Sentence: When you buy foods you have certain statutory rights.
