‘Vocabulary’
- Apparel (noun)
Meaning: covering for the human body; as in clothing (कपड़ा)
Synonyms: clothes, attire, garments
Sentence: She looked lovely, despite her strange apparel.
- Subpoena (noun)
Meaning: a writ ordering a person to attend a court. (लिखित आदेश)
Synonyms: warrant, written order
Sentence: He has been served with a subpoena to answer the charges in court.
- Snubbing (verb)
Meaning: rebuff, ignore, or spurn disdainfully. (तुच्छ समझना)
Synonyms: rejecting, isolating, repulsing
Antonyms: respecting, valuing, admiring
Sentence: He snubbed faculty members and students alike.
- Pang (noun)
Meaning: a sudden sharp pain or painful emotion. (पीड़ा)
Synonyms: pain, sting, discomfort
Antonyms: aid, assist, comfort
Sentence: He experienced a sudden pang of conscience.
- Badinage (noun)
Meaning: good-natured teasing or exchanging of clever remarks (मज़ाक)
Synonyms: banter, raillery, repartee
Sentence: Mrs Goreng was in no mood for intellectual badinage.
- Facetious (adj.)
Meaning: treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant. (हासकर)
Synonyms: flippant, glib, frivolous
Antonyms: serious, solemn, sober
Sentence: Stop being facetious, this is serious.
- Pendency (noun)
Meaning: the state, condition, or period of being pending or awaiting settlement. (लम्बित)
Synonyms: unresolved, unsettled
Sentence: The defendant should be restrained from further public comment during the pendency of the trial.
- Shirker (noun)
Meaning: one who deliberately avoids work or duty (कामचोर)
Synonyms: idler, lingerer, sluggard
Antonyms: doer, hustler

- Haven (noun)
Meaning: a place of safety or refuge. (शरण)
Synonyms: refuge, shelter, sanctuary
Sentence: The river banks are a haven for wildlife.
- Veracious (adj.)
Meaning: speaking or representing the truth. (सत्यनिष्ठ)
Synonyms: honest, truthful, genuine
Antonyms: mendacious, dishonest, untruthful
Sentence: He was a strictly veracious reporter.
