‘Vocabulary’
- Fudging (verb)
Meaning: present or deal with (something) in a vague, noncommittal, or inadequate way, especially so as to conceal the truth or mislead. (हेरफेर)
Synonyms: evade, dodge, shuffle
Antonyms: clarifying, explaining, illustrating
Sentence: Fudging the numbers on an expense report might be considered fraud in some circles.
- Frittering (verb)
Meaning: waste time, money, or energy on trifling matters. (व्यर्थ नष्ट करना)
Synonyms: squander, waste, misspend
Antonyms: penurious, acquisitive
Sentence: I seem to fritter my time away in coffee mornings.
- Promulgate (verb)
Meaning: promote or make widely known (घोषणा करना)
Synonyms: make known, make public, publicize
Antonyms: silence, suppress, criticize
Sentence: The actor makes use of social media to promulgate the release of his film projects.
- Avarice (noun)
Meaning: extreme greed for wealth or material gain. (लोभ)
Synonyms: greed, acquisitiveness, cupidity
Antonyms: fulfillment, satisfaction, selflessness
Sentence: Avarice blinds our eyes.
- Chagrin (verb)
Meaning: feel distressed or humiliated. (चिढ़ाना)
Synonyms: annoyed, irritated, irked
Antonyms: felicity, gladness
Sentence: He was chagrined when his friend poured scorn on him.
- Fervor (adj.)
Meaning: intense and passionate feeling. (जोश)
Synonyms: passion, ardor, zeal
Antonyms: impassiveness, impassivity, aloofness
Sentence: The speech aroused nationalist fervor.
- Consonance (noun)
Meaning: agreement or compatibility between opinions or actions. (समझौता)
Synonyms: agreement, concord, accord
Antonyms: discordance, conflict, disagreement
Sentence: This type of democracy is in consonance with our own African heritage.
- Thaw (verb)
Meaning: (of ice, snow, or another frozen substance, such as food) become liquid or soft as a result of warming. (पिघलना)
Synonyms: liquefy, melt, fuse
Antonyms: harden, set, solidify
Sentence: The snow started to thaw as the temperature kept up.
- Explicable (adj.)
Meaning: able to be accounted for or understood. (समझाने के योग्य)
Synonyms: explainable, interpretable, definable
Antonyms: inexplicable, insoluble, insolvable
Sentence: The sudden increase in sales is easily explicable.
- Fanatical (adj.)
Meaning: filled with excessive and single-minded zeal. (कट्टर)
Synonyms: zealous, extremist, rabid
Antonyms: nonmilitant, nonrevolutionary, liberal
Sentence: As a boy, he was a fanatical patriot.
