  1. Vacuous (adj.)

Meaning: having or showing a lack of thought or intelligence; mindless. (असार)

Synonyms: blank, vacant, expressionless

Antonyms: brainy, bright, brilliant

Sentence: He delivered a vacuous inaugural speech.

  1. Shrine (noun)

Meaning: a place regarded as holy because of its associations with a divinity or a sacred person or relic, marked by a building or other construction. (मंदिर)

Synonyms: holy place, temple, church

Sentence: The medieval pilgrim route to the shrine of St. James.

  1. Hoodwink (verb)

Meaning: deceive or trick (someone). (आंख में धूल झोंकना)

Synonyms: deceive, trick, dupe

Antonyms: disclose, divulge, undeceive

  1. Cogent (adj.)

Meaning: (of an argument or case) clear, logical, and convincing. (निश्चयात्मक)

Synonyms: convincing, compelling, potent

Antonyms: inconclusive, indecisive, ineffective

Sentence: They put forward cogent arguments for British membership.

  1. Obsequious (adj.)

Meaning: obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree. (चापलूस)

Synonyms: servile, ingratiating, unctuous

Antonyms: insurgent, mutinous, errant

Sentence: The waiter was polite and efficient, but not obsequious.

  1. Germane (adj.)

Meaning: relevant to a subject under consideration. (सार्थक)

Synonyms: relevant, pertinent, applicable

Antonyms: irrelative, irrelevant, pointless

Sentence: He asks questions that are germane and central to the issue.

  1. Fling (verb)

Meaning: throw or hurl forcefully. (फेंकना)

Synonyms: throw, toss, sling

Antonyms: hold, keep, retain

Sentence: He picked up the debris and flung it away.

  1. Bemuse (verb)

Meaning: puzzle, confuse, or bewilder (someone). (भ्रमित)

Synonyms: bewildered, confused, puzzled

Antonyms: assure, enlighten, inform

Sentence: Sarah looked totally bemused

  1. Extol (verb)

Meaning: praise enthusiastically. (प्रशंसा करना)

Synonyms: admire, praise, compliment

Antonyms: blame, humiliate, criticize

Sentence: She is forever extolling the virtues of her children.

  1. Evanescent (adj.)

Meaning: soon passing out of sight, memory, or existence; quickly fading or disappearing. (क्षणभंगुर)

Synonyms: vanishing, fading, fleeting

Antonyms: endless, eternal, everlasting

Sentence: Talk is evanescent but writing leaves footprints.
