‘Vocabulary’
- Swarming (adj.)
Meaning: moving in or forming a large or dense group. (झुंड)
Synonyms: abounding, abundant, crowd
Antonyms: devoid, empty
Sentence: The place was swarming with police and displaced residents.
- Gripping (adj.)
Meaning: firmly holding the attention or interest; exciting. (मनोरंजक)
Synonyms: enthralling, fascinating, immersing
Antonyms: boring, drab, monotonous
Sentence: The film turned out to be a gripping thriller.
- Dutiful (adj.)
Meaning: conscientiously or obediently fulfilling one’s duty. (कर्त्तव्य परायण)
Synonyms: conscientious, responsible, dedicated
Antonyms: undutiful, discourteous, insolent
Sentence: She was a complaisant wife and dutiful daughter.
- Distraught (adj.)
Meaning: deeply upset and agitated. (व्याकुल)
Synonyms: worried, upset, distressed
Antonyms: calm, peaceful, placid
Sentence: Her distraught mother had spent all night waiting by the phone.
- Ploys (noun)
Meaning: a cunning plan or action designed to turn a situation to one’s own advantage. (चाल)
Synonyms: tactic, stratagem, trick
Sentence: Asking me to take her shopping turned out to be a ploy to get me to the surprise party.
- Fiasco (noun)
Meaning: a thing that is a complete failure, especially in a ludicrous or humiliating way. (असफलता)
Synonyms: failure, debacle, shambles
Antonyms: hit, smash, success
Sentence: The mass rally was a total fiasco.
- Hoodlum (noun)
Meaning: a person who engages in crime and violence; a hooligan or gangster. (बदमाश)
Synonyms: hooligan, thug, ruffian

- Defile (verb)
Meaning: to make unfit for use by the addition of something harmful or undesirable (गंदा करना)

- Inculcate (verb)
Meaning: instill (an attitude, idea, or habit) by persistent instruction. (मन में बैठाना)

Sentence: Not all schools manage to successfully inculcate a love of learning.
- Affability (noun)
Meaning: the quality of having a friendly and good-natured manner. (नेकी)
Synonyms: friendliness, amiability, geniality
Antonyms: disagreeableness, unpleasantness
Sentence: He was beloved by the nation for his affability toward people from all walks of life.
