Meaning: feel a strong desire for or to do something. (लालायित होना)

Synonyms: yearn, crave, desire

Antonyms: abhor, abominate, despise

Sentence: What did you hanker after most when you were in prison?

  1. Idiosyncrasy (noun)

Meaning: a mode of behavior or way of thought peculiar to an individual. (लत)

Synonyms: crotchet, affectation, habit

Sentence: Eating no meat was Amy’s idiosyncrasy.

  1. Convalesce (verb)

Meaning: recover one’s health and strength over a period of time after an illness or operation. (अच्छा हो जाना)

Synonyms: recuperate, get better, recover

Antonyms: ail, collapse, sicken

Sentence: She went to the seaside to convalesce after her stay in hospital.

  1. Startling (adj.)

Meaning: very surprising, astonishing, or remarkable. (चौंकाने)

  1. Shambles (noun)

Meaning: a state of total disorder. (अव्यवस्था)

  1. Indelible (adj.)

Meaning: (of ink or a pen) making marks that cannot be removed. (अमिट)

Synonyms: ineradicable, inerasable, ineffaceable

Antonyms: eradicable, erasable

Sentence: The blood had left an indelible mark on her shirt.
