  1. Jeremiad (noun)

Meaning: a long angry speech or scolding (आलोचना)

Synonyms: Criticism, rant, criticism

Antonyms: eulogy, tribute, praise

Sentence: A jeremiad against the political apathy shown by so many young people.

  1. Newfangled (adj.)

Meaning: being or involving the latest methods, concepts, information, or styles

Synonyms: modern, new, latest

Antonyms: antiquated, archaic, old-fashioned

Sentence: I like all these newfangled gadgets.

  1. Attenuate (verb)

Meaning: reduce the force, effect, or value of. (कम करना)

Synonyms: reduced, decreased, diminished

Antonyms: enhance, upgrade, increase

Sentence: This research provides a glimmer of hope that coral reefs can attenuate the effects of ocean acidification.

  1. Fallacious (adj.)

Meaning: based on a mistaken belief. (ग़लत)

Synonyms: erroneous, false, untrue

Antonyms: right, true

Sentence: His argument is based on fallacious reasoning.

  1. Ossify (verb)

Meaning: become rigid or fixed in attitude or position; cease developing. (कठोर हो जाना)

Synonyms: become inflexible, become rigid, fossilize

Antonyms: soften, smelt

Sentence: This disease will make her tendons ossify and her body paralyzed into a statue.

  1. Propensity (noun)

Meaning: an inclination or natural tendency to behave in a particular way. (प्रवृत्ति)

Synonyms: tendency, inclination, proneness

Antonyms: dislike, disinclination, indisposition

Sentence: He has a propensity for drinking too much alcohol.

  1. Tchotchke (noun)

Meaning: a small object displayed for its attractiveness or interest

Synonyms: souvenir, knickknack, ornament

Sentence: Shelves cluttered with tchotchkes from a lifetime of vacations.

  1. Gadabout (noun)

Meaning: to move about from place to place aimlessly (व्यर्थ घूमने वाला)

Synonyms: roam, wander, nomad

Antonyms: homebody, inhabitant

Sentence: She was a thoughtful gadabout, always picking up souvenirs for her friends from wherever her travels took her.

  1. Fusty (adj.)

Meaning: having an unpleasant smell (दुर्गंन्ध)

Synonyms: stinking, ripe, smelly

Antonyms: aromatic, fragrant, sweet

Sentence: These blanket smells a bit fusty.

  1. Hoopla (noun)

Meaning: a state of noisy, confused activity (गड़बड़)

Synonyms: disturbance, turmoil, hurry

Antonyms: calm, quiet

Sentence: The new casino opened amid much hoopla.
