  1. Protract (verb)

Meaning: as in to lengthen (फैलना)

Synonyms: lengthen, elongate, stretch

Antonyms: shorten, diminish, curtail

Sentence: We won victory through protracted struggle.

  1. Redolent (adj.)

Meaning: as in fragrant (सुगंध का)

Synonyms: savoury, perfumed, odored

Antonyms: noisome, odorless, smelly

Sentence: The kitchen was redolent of onions.

  1. Relic (noun)

Meaning: as in antique (अवशेष)

Synonyms: fossil, antique, trace

Sentence: This stone axe is a relic of ancient times.

  1. Humdrum (adj.)

Meaning: as in boring (नीरस)

Synonyms: boring, tiring, dull

Antonyms: exciting, involving, engaging

Sentence: Their lives consist of the humdrum activities of everyday existence.

  1. Imminent (adj.)

Meaning: as in impending (आसन्न)

Synonyms: impending, looming, possible

Antonyms: past, eventual, recent

Sentence: He was faced with imminent death.

  1. Cognizance (noun)

Meaning: as in familiarity (पहचान)

Synonyms: awareness, familiarity, experience

Antonyms: unfamiliarity, inexperience, ignorance

Sentence: These matters fall within / go beyond the cognizance of this court.

  1. Brickbats (noun)

Meaning: as in insults (आलोचना)

Synonyms: insult, offences, indignities

Antonyms: compliments, praises, acclaim

Sentence: The politician faced a barrage of brickbats from his opponents during the debate.

  1. Skulk (verb)

Meaning: as in to lurk (छिपना)

Synonyms: steal, hide, sneak

Antonyms: show up, appear, come out

Sentence: the animal control officers caught the stray cat that had been skulking behind some trash cans

  1. Elevating (verb)

Meaning: as in lifting (ऊपर उठाने)

Synonyms: lifting, raising, uplifting

Antonyms: falling, descending, dropping

Sentence: the exercise will naturally be elevating your chest and head

  1. Inviolable (adj.)

Meaning: as in sacred (पवित्र)

Synonyms: sacred, holy, pure

Antonyms: blasphemous, Irreverent, sacrilegious

Sentence: Basic law or tradition was considered inviolable.
