‘Vocabulary’
- Amok (adv.)
Meaning: in a confused and reckless manner (आपे से बाहर)
Synonyms: confusedly, berserk, feverishly
Antonyms: calmly, collectedly, composedly
Sentence: A man was arrested after running amok with a vehicle through Berlin.
- Scandalous (adj.)
Meaning: causing general public outrage by a perceived offense against morality or law. (अपमानपूर्ण)
Synonyms: discreditable, disreputable, dishonorable
Antonyms: appreciative, innocuous, inoffensive
Sentence: They spread a scandalous rumor about a coworker that almost cost him his job.
- Liaison (noun)
Meaning: communication or cooperation which facilitates a close working relationship between people or organizations. (मेल जोल)
Synonyms: cooperation, contact, association
Antonyms: disaffiliation, dissociation, incompatibility
Sentence: We maintained a close liaison with the trade union.
- Corralled (verb)
Meaning: gather together and confine (a group of people or things). (इकट्ठा करना)
Synonyms: accumulated, amassed, assembled
Antonyms: dispelled, dispersed, dissipated
Sentence: They corralled the cattle before loading them onto the truck.
- Reenact (verb)
Meaning: to act out a past event; to enact again (दोहराना)
Synonyms: reduplicate, repeat, recreate
Sentence: The group reenacted a famous American Civil War battle.
- Foolhardy (adj.)
Meaning: recklessly bold or rash. (असावधान)
Synonyms: reckless, careless, incautious
Antonyms: careful, cautious, heedful
Sentence: It would be foolhardy to go into the scheme without support.
- Egregious (adj.)
Meaning: outstandingly bad; shocking. (प्रबल)
Synonyms: shocking, appalling, horrific
Antonyms: trivial, imperceptible
Sentence: It was an egregious error for a statesman to show such ignorance.
- Embroil (verb)
Meaning: involve (someone) deeply in an argument, conflict, or difficult situation. (उलझाना)
Synonyms: involve, ensnare, enmesh
Antonyms: emancipated, freed, liberated
Sentence: Take care not to get embroiled with those people.
- Bamboozle (verb)
Meaning: fool or cheat (someone). (धोखा देना)
Synonyms: trick, deceive, delude
Antonyms: expose, reveal
Sentence: She was bamboozled into telling them her credit card number.
- Clutter (noun)
Meaning: an unorganized collection or mixture of various things (ढेरी)
Synonyms: agglomerate, agglomeration, mixed bag
Sentence: Sorry about the clutter in the kitchen
