- Bode (verb)
Meaning: be an omen of a particular outcome. (भविष्यव्दाणी)
Synonyms: presage, portend, foretell
Sentence: Her good habits bode well for her future.
- Bungler (noun)
Meaning: a person who habitually bungles things; an amateur. (गोलमाल करनेवाला)
Synonyms: blunderer, incompetent, amateur
Antonyms: Bungler, expert, maestro
Sentence: The Los Angeles Times this morning called them bunglers.
- Gratification (noun)
Meaning: pleasure, especially when gained from the satisfaction of a desire. (संतुष्टि)
Synonyms: satisfaction, fulfillment, indulgence
Antonyms: discontent, displeasure, dissatisfaction
Sentence: His son’s success was a great gratification to him.
- Scurrilous (adj.)
Meaning: making or spreading scandalous claims about someone with the intention of damaging their reputation. (मिथ्या)
Synonyms: abusive, vituperative, derogatory
Antonyms: moderate, temperate, praiseful
Sentence: Scurrilous and untrue stories were being invented.
- Incommodious (adj.)
Meaning: causing inconvenience or discomfort. (असुविधाजनक)
Synonyms: limited, restricted
Antonyms: commodious, capacious
Sentence: The harbor is unsafe and incommodious.
- Gazillion (noun)
Meaning: a huge number or quantity (used for emphasis). (अधिक)
Synonyms: million, thousands, excess
Antonyms: little, inadequacy, deficiency
Sentence: I have a gazillion things to do.
- Recompense (noun)
Meaning: compensation or reward given for loss or harm suffered or effort made. (मुआवज़ा)
Synonyms: compensation, reparation, indemnification
Sentence: She received a gift as recompense.
- Howbeit (adv.)
Meaning: nevertheless; however. (परन्तु)
Synonyms: even so, however, nevertheless
Antonyms: all the same
Sentence: I’ve never written a poem before; howbeit, I feel my first attempt is quite good
- Caliginous (adj.)
Meaning: being without light or without much light (अंधेरा)
Synonyms: black, dark, darkened
Antonyms: bright, brightened, illuminated
Sentence: Without a flashlight, there was no way to tell what kind of creatures lurked in the caliginous cave.
- Inducement (noun)
Meaning: a thing that persuades or influences someone to do something. (प्रलोभन)
Synonyms: incentive, attraction, encouragement
Sentence: The higher payments were offered as an inducement.
