  1. Breakthrough (noun)

Meaning: an instance of notable progress in the development of knowledge, technology, or skill (वृद्धि)

Synonyms: improvement, advancement, enhancement

Antonyms: setback, collapse

Sentence: Researchers say they have made a major breakthrough in cancer treatment.

  1. Peremptory (adj.)

Meaning: as in authoritarian (आदेशपूर्ण)

Synonyms: authoritarian, aggressive, commanding

Antonyms: humble, unassuming, indecisive

Sentence: He started issuing peremptory instructions.

  1. Colossal (adj.)

Meaning: as in gigantic (अति विशाल)

Synonyms: gigantic, huge, huge

Antonyms: tiny, micro, Lilliputian

Sentence: A colossal statue of the town’s founder.

  1. Deem (verb)

Meaning: as in to think (सोचना)

Synonyms: guess, assume, suppose

Antonyms: question, suspect, doubt

Sentence: I deem it advisable to purchase the shares in the railway now.

  1. Fallout (verb)

Meaning: to express different opinions about something often angrily (विवाद करना)

Synonyms: argue, fight, quarrel

Antonyms: accept, agree, assent

Sentence: Both the members start fallout with each other.

  1. Cohesion (noun)

Meaning: as in unity (एकजुटता)

Synonyms: unity, friendship, collaboration

Antonyms: conflict, hatred, antagonism

Sentence: There was a lack of cohesion in the rebel army.

  1. Revelation (noun)

Meaning: as in disclosure (प्रकटीकरण)

Synonyms: disclosure, exposure, surprise

Antonyms: concealment, cover-up, closure

Sentence: the revelation of the movie star’s secret marriage by the tabloids

  1. Hogwash (noun)

Meaning: as in nonsense (बेतुकी)

Synonyms: garbage, nuts, rubbish

Antonyms: reasonableness, judgment, sense

Sentence: His answer was pure hogwash.

  1. Surfeit (verb)

Meaning: as in to glut (अति भोजन)

Synonyms: stuff, glut, fill

Antonyms: diet, fast

Sentence: A surfeit of rich food is bad for you.

  1. Behest (noun)

Meaning: as in edict (आदेश)

Synonyms: edict, instruction, order

Antonyms: recommendation, suggestion, proposal

Sentence: They arrested him at the King’s behest.
