Three European nation tour by PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned home after completing his three-nation European tour. At 3 day tour he held a series of bilateral meetings to boost ties in a range of areas including trade, energy and green technology.

PM Modi was recently concluded his 3 day tour to 3 European nations in 65 hours which resulted in immensely productive. PM Modi held advanced trade & investment ties – new green partnerships, promoted collaboration for innovation and skill development strengthened the spirit of cooperation with our European partners.

Day 1:

Germany:

PM Narendra Modi started his 3 day tour from Germany. He met German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Both the leaders have participated in meetings and different events organized by German Government.

Narendra Modi co-chaired the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations.

Two leaders promised to co operate in key areas of bilateral cooperation under the overall strategic partnership, as well as regional and global developments.

Day 2:

Denmark:

After leaving for Germany, PM Narendra Modi reached Copenhagen, Denmark.

He was welcomed by Danish Prime Minister Metter Frederiksen and met Queen Margrethe also.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Queen on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of her accession to the throne of Denmark.

Mr. Modi attended 2nd India-Nordic summit in Copenhagen. The second India-Nordic summit is aimed on post-pandemic economic recovery, climate change, renewable energy and the evolving global security scenario.

On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Modi participated in distinguish bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.

The Ukraine- Russia issue also discussed at the second India-Nordic summit attended by Prime Minister Modi and his counterparts from Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark in Copenhagen on Wednesday.

Mr. Modi participated in the India-Denmark Business Roundtable and interacted with the Indian community in Denmark.

Partnership between India-Denmark:

Both Prime Ministers held a review meeting on progress of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership.

In meeting the areas considered is cooperation in renewable energy, especially offshore wind energy and green hydrogen, as well as skill development, health, shipping, water and the Arctic.

They also welcomed the ‘Declaration of Intent on a migration and mobility partnership’ between two countries.

Day 3:

France:

PM Narendra Modi warm welcomed in France by his counterpart French president Emmanuel Macron.

Here it is important that Emmanuel Macron has been re-elected recently in 2022.

Both leaders discussed about bilateral and global issues, amid Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Mr. Macron held a tete-a-tete with Modi before the delegation-level talks at the Elysee Palace — the official residence of the French President.

Partnership between India and France:

PM Modi stated that it will establish us the opportunity to set the tone of the next phase of the India-France Strategic Partnership.

Narendra Modi hoped that the talks might explore ways to boost cooperation in areas of technology, space, and energy.

Partnership with other countries during 3 day tour:

With Norway: A meeting between leaders of India and Norway taken into furthering cooperation in sectors such as the blue economy, clean energy, space, healthcare and more. Norway is a important part of India’s recently launched Arctic Policy.

With Finland: The developmental partnership between India & Finland is rapidly springing up. Both leaders talked about ways to further strong this partnership in trade, investment, technology and other such sectors.

With Iceland: India & Iceland have many opportunities on issues of climate cooperation & geothermal energy along with deepening cooperation in carbon binding &fisheries sector. Both leaders also talked over culture & gender equality.
