Unprecedented starting of G20 summit

World leaders assembled in New Delhi as India plays host at the G20 Summit. The presidency of G20 has been taken over by India on December 1 2022 and organized approximately 200 meetings related to the G20 in 60 cities across the nation.

Leaders across the world like US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have arrived to India to attend the G20 summit.

The recent G 20 summit is being attended by more than 30 heads of state and top officials from the European Union and invited guest countries and 14 heads of international organizations.

Bharat Mandapam:

The G20 Leader’s Summit is being organized in the national capital at the newly inaugurated Bharat Mandapam on September 9-10.

Bharat Mandapam is decorated and designed with eye captured cultural and heritage but modern things.

The first session of the G20 Summit has based on ‘One Earth’. One Earth is one of the main topics of discussion during the session at the G20 leaders’ summit.

Theme of G20 summit 2023:

The theme of G20 Summit 2023 under India’s presidency is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth – One Family – One Future” – is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad.

Notable events at the starting G 20 summit:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an announcement about the African Union’s permanent membership of the G20 which includes the world’s richest and most powerful countries.

The African Union has the same status as the European Union – the only regional bloc with a full membership. The African Union is a continental body of 55 member states. Its previous designation was “invited international organisation”.

Brazil will assume the next G20 presidency in 2024, followed by South Africa in 2025.
