UP Banned Halal Certified Products: What is the reason?

The Uttar Pradesh government has recently come to a decision to take necessary steps to control the sale and storage of halal certified products and a complete ban on the products with halal certifications.

The decision has come from the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) after the raid on various super malls and supermarkets in various places in Uttar Pradesh.

Although this ban is not valid for the products which are manufactured for export. Those products are exempted from this ban.

FSDA claims that there are some practices going on in the markets to discourage people from using non halal certified products. These types of practices are a large concern for people who are vulnerable and it promotes caste hatred.

These halal certified products are also beneficial for unfair financial profit according to the Uttar Pradesh government.

The UP government has clearly mentioned that from the immediate effect this ban is applicable on halal certified products from sale, distribution and manufacturing.

The government of Uttar Pradesh also made sure in a statement that they will come up with strict legal procedures to combat these types of practices.

What is a halal certified product?

Halal Certified products are those products which are especially meant and made for a specific community. These products are meant to meet the all the requirements of Islamic law as per the community.

What is the controversy?

According to the UP government these halal certified products are a major concern and it spreads caste hatred among other communities.

Caste based discrimination is not allowed in our constitution and halal certified products are going to be against it.

Halal Certified Products are also unfairly made financial benefits for illegal manufacturers. This is another major concern as per the UP government.

There are also some manufacturing companies which export halal certified products to Islamic States such as the Middle east. These exports are exempted from the ban by the UP government.

Conclusion:

This decision of the UP government for sure is going to be a controversy according to some people and there are also some who are in favor of this decision.

No matter what will be the result of this ban, if there are any harm to the citizens of this country from the halal certified products, they need to be banned immediately.
