Exp.The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) has selected McKinsey & Company to set up India’s first Digital Capability Centre (DCC), which will showcase advanced technologies and provide a test bed for emerging innovations. McKinsey supports five such digital capability centres across the globe – Aachen, Chicago, Singapore, Venice, and Beijing. DCC is a unique digital manufacturing learning centre offering company leaders and their workforces hands-on experience and workshops in next generation technology to help them advance their operations, design and productivity and can be used at all levels of the value chain.

Exp.Thailand has become first country in Asia to roll out plain cigarette packaging. Here, the health impact is huge and smoking-related illnesses are a leading cause of death. The standardized packaging includes a graphic picture of tobacco’s effects on the body and the logo-free brand name written in plain font. In 2012, Australia became the first country in the world to introduce plain packaging.

Exp.India’s 2nd riverine Multi-Modal terminal (MMT) has been inaugurated   by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Sahibganj in Jharkhand on 12th September 2019.  It is constructed by Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) on river Ganga under Jal Marg Vikas Project at a cost of Rs 290 crore in a record time of about 2 years.  The terminal at Sahibganj will open up industries of Jharkhand and Bihar to the global market and provide Indo-Nepal cargo connectivity through waterways route. India’s first MMT was built at Varanasi.

Exp.The Gurugram traffic police have tied up with Google maps for dissemination of traffic related information such as planned road closures, diversions, traffic alerts regarding road crash etc. in real time for public use. The basic idea behind this arrangement is to prompt commuters to make intelligent choices in order to make their commuting experience hassle-free.

Exp. The International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, has signed a MoU with the Finance Industry Development Council to collaborate on the training of NBFCs in the country.
