Gujarat launched healthcare scheme named ‘Niramay Gujarat Yojana’
- Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel launched a new healthcare scheme named ‘Niramay Gujarat Yojana’ to protect people over 30-years from non-communicable diseases.
- Aim: To provide free medical check-ups to eligible citizens at the Primary & Community Health Centres, and diagnose for non-communicable diseases.
- Gujarat is also set to launch ‘Atmanirbhar Gram Yatra’, a program under which Rs 500 crore worth of development works will be conducted in rural districts of Gujarat.

Defence Minister inaugurated 1st Private Sector Defence Manufacturing facility in UPDIC in Lucknow
- Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the first operationalised private sector defence manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) in Lucknow on November 13, 2021.
- The facility, run by Aerolloy Technologies, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTC industries, will manufacture parts for Aircraft Engines, Helicopter Engines, Structural parts for aircraft, Drones and UAVs, Submarines, Ultra-Light Artillery Guns, Space Launch Vehicles and Strategy Systems, etc.
IOCL and NTPC tied up to collaborate in Renewable Energy
- NTPC signed an MoU with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to collaborate in the field of Renewable Energy and mutually explore opportunities for supply of low carbon/RE RTC (round the clock) captive power.
- This is a first-of-its-kind novel initiative by two leading national energy majors of India, to support the country’s commitment to achieving renewable energy targets and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- This comes in the backdrop of Indian Oil announcing its plan to build the country’s first green hydrogen plant at its Mathura refinery.

Ministry of Culture launched Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Mobile App
- Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi, Ministry of Culture and External Affairs launched the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) mobile App which is single-point access to all information, activities, and events related to the 75th anniversary celebrations of India’s independence.
- The app available in android and iOS is free for download app with no age restrictions.
International News
IQAir Air Quality Index (AQI): Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai among world’s top 10 polluted cities
- According to the data from air quality and pollution city tracking service from IQAir, a Switzerland-based climate group, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai are among the top ten most polluted cities of the world.
- Delhi topped the list with AQI at 556, Kolkata and Mumbai recorded an AQI of 177 and 169, respectively, at 4th and 6th position.
- The cities with the worst AQI indices also include Lahore, Pakistan, and Chengdu, China. IQAir is also a technology partner of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP).

HDFC Bank integrated with e-NAM platform to Facilitate Agri Commodity Trading
- HDFC Bank integrated with the Central Government’s National Agriculture Market (eNAM) to enable digital collections and settlement of funds to various e-NAM beneficiaries.
- HDFC Bank has partnered with Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) to further improve the ease of doing business on the e-NAM platform by offering the Multi-Netbanking, Debit card, NEFT/RTGS and UPI/IMPS collection modes.
- This integration will help farmers, FPOs, commission agents, institutional buyers and other Mandi level service providers.

VVS Laxman will take charge as next National Cricket Academy (NCA) head
- Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly confirmed on Sunday, that former India batter VVS Laxman will be the next head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
- Laxman will take over from his former batting colleague Rahul Dravid, who was recently appointed as chief coach of the Indian team following the end of Ravi Shastri’s tenure.

- In continuation of a tradition that started in 1950, Nepal Army Chief Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma was conferred with the honorary rank of ‘General of the Indian Army’ by President Ram Nath Kovind.
- Nepal conferred the honorary rank of ‘General of Nepal Army’ to Indian Army Chief Gen MM Naravane during his visit to Kathmandu in November last year.

India and France hold 6th edition of army exercise Shakti 2021
- Indian Army conducted the sixth edition of the biennial training exercise “Shakti”, with the French Army from November 15, 2021. Shakti 2021 will be conducted from November 15 to November 26 in Frejus, France.
- A platoon strength of a Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion is representing the Indian Army in this bilateral exercise and the French side is being represented by troops of 21st Marine Infantry Regiment of 6th Light Armoured Brigade.

Australia won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021
- Australia won their maiden T20 World Cup title as they defeated New Zealand in the final by 8 wickets. Mitchell Marsh was named as the player of the match.
- ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 had begun on 17th October 2021 at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, the final match was commenced on 14th November in Dubai when Australia and New Zealand met in a decider.
Lewis Hamilton won Brazilian (Sao Paulo) Formula One Grand Prix 2021
- Mercedes’ British driver Lewis Hamilton has won the Brazil Grand Prix 2021 in one of his all-time great drives.
- Max Verstappen finished second, Valtteri Bottas finished third and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez was fourth.

India will host 1st World Yogasana Championship in June 2022
- India is all set to host the first-ever yogasana world championship in June 2022.
- The announcement for the same was made during India’s first Physical National Yogasana Sports Championships in Bhubaneswar, Odisha being held from November 11 to 13, 2021.
- The event is organised by the National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) in association with the Odisha government. Yogasana sport for both male and female categories have been included in the Khelo India Youth Games, 2021.

- India’s chief national badminton coach P. Gopi Chand formally launched his autobiography “Shuttler’s Flick: Making every match count”, at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.
- The book is co-authored by Priya Kumar. He was a badminton player, and also coached famous badminton players, including Olympic medallists Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu, B. Sai Praneeth and former World No.1 K. Srikanth.
