The International Cricket Council (ICC) & United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) have launched a global partnership to empower women & girls & promote inclusion and gender equality through cricket.
The partnership will be activated in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia where all 16 nations will hold ‘Cricket 4 Good Coaching Clinics’ with up to 40 school children taking part in each one.
The players will introduce the children to ‘Criiio 4 Good’, a cricket development curriculum as the participants will also learn more about gender equity and get to meet their cricketing heroes.

World Trauma Day is observed every year on 17 October.
Objective – To prevent the increasing rate of accidents and injuries causing death and disability across the world.
The day was created in New Delhi, India, in 2011.
Trauma means “any injury caused to the body”. The injury may be caused due to many reasons like road accidents, fires, burns, falls, acts of violence and crimes against the vulnerable population including women, children and elderly.
Every year, about 5 million people die from injuries across the world. In India alone, it is estimated that one million people die and 20 million are hospitalized every year due to injuries.
According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), about 1,37,000 people died in road accidents in India in 2013.
