Exp. Robots will serve food and give medicine to COVID-19 patients in two hospitals in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, in a step to protect doctors and health workers from getting infected with coronavirus. Developed by District Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Aditya Ranjan, the remote-controlled COBOT-Robotics will provide food and medicine to patients without human intervention.

Exp. As the number of Covid-19 positive patients in Uttar Pradesh reached 558 on 13th April, the state government decided to start pool testing of the coronavirus samples. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) gave permission for pool testing to the state in order to help maximise the testing of samples on a daily basis.

Exp. The Asian Development Bank has announced they are almost tripling their COVID-19 response package from $6.5 billion to $20 billion while also approving measures to streamline its operations for quicker and more flexible delivery of assistance, focusing on the poor and the vulnerable in particular.

Exp. The Trump administration has notified the Congress of its determination to sell Harpoon air-launched anti-ship missiles and Mark 54 lightweight torpedoes worth USD 155 million to India to enhance its deterrent capabilities against “regional threats” and to bolster its homeland defence. The US recognised India as a “Major Defence Partner” in 2016. This designation allows India to buy more advanced and sensitive technologies from America at par with that of the US’ closest allies and partners.

Exp. To celebrate the richness of art and promote awareness of creative activity, the International Association of Art (IAA/AIAP) celebrates the World Art Day on April 15.

Exp. IAA, a partner of UNESCO, decided to celebrate the day on April 15 every year to honour and mark the birthday of the greatest artists of all time, Leonardo da Vinci. The famous Mona Lisa’s painter is also known as a symbol of world peace, freedom of expression, tolerance and brotherhood. The first celebration of World Art Day took place on April 15, 2012. The celebration for the day is held in Los Angeles every year, from last few years.
