2 October	Gandhi Jayanti	2^nd October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti and is a national holiday. It is the day when Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, fondly known as Mahatma Gandhi was born. People celebrate the day by offering prayers, performing commemorative ceremonies, and giving tributes to the Father of the Nation.

31 October	Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day	The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or the National Unity Day is celebrated on 31st October in India.
