Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the RBI Grade B exam, you must meet the following criteria as of September 1, 2025.

Educational Qualification

• Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – General:
  • A graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants).
  • OR a post-graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants).
• Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR:
  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematical Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, Industrial Economics, Development Economics, or International Economics with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • OR a Master’s degree in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, Banking and Trade Finance, International and Trade Finance, Corporate Finance, or Agri Business Finance with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
• Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM:
  • A Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics, Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Big Data Analytics with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • OR a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in any of the above subjects with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Age Limit

• You must be between 21 and 30 years old as of September 1, 2025.
• This means you must have been born not earlier than September 2, 1995, and not later than September 1, 2004.
• Relaxations in the upper age limit are available for candidates from reserved categories as per government rules.

RBI Grade B Salary and Benefits:

A career as an RBI Grade B Officer is not just prestigious but also financially rewarding. The salary structure is designed to attract the best talent. The starting basic pay is ₹78,450/- per month in the pay scale of ₹78450-4050(9)-114900-EB-4050(2)-123000-4650(4)-141600 (16 years). What this means is your basic pay increases over the years with fixed increments.
On top of the basic pay, you will receive several allowances, including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Local Compensatory Allowance, and more. The initial monthly gross emoluments come to approximately ₹1,50,374/-. You will also be covered under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and receive benefits like medical facilities, leave fare concession, and loans at concessional rates for housing, vehicles, and education.

RBI Grade B Selection Process 2025:

The selection process for the RBI Grade B Officer post is designed to test your knowledge and skills thoroughly. It consists of two phases of examinations followed by an interview.

Phase-I: Online Examination

This is the first stage and is an objective-type test. It will have four sections:

• General Awareness
• English Language
• Quantitative Aptitude
• Reasoning

You will be given a total of 120 minutes to complete the paper, with separate timings for each section. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

Phase-II: Online Examination

Candidates who clear the Phase-I exam will be shortlisted for Phase-II. This phase consists of three papers:

• Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues (Objective + Descriptive)
• Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) (Descriptive)
• Paper-III: General Finance and Management (Objective + Descriptive)

Interview

Based on the marks obtained in the Phase-II examination, you will be called for an interview, which carries 75 marks. The final selection will be based on the combined score of the Phase-II exam and the interview.
