SVAMITVA scheme received “Best Innovation Award” during Public Policy Dialogues-2024

SVAMITVA scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has received the Best Innovation Award in Public Policy Dialogues 2024, Conclave of the Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP), Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. The conclave was scheduled on 3rd January to 5th January 2024.

Ministry of Panchayati Raj has participated in the Public Policy Dialogues-2024 and presented the “Digital Transformation Initiatives in Land Governance through SVAMITVA Scheme” in the Innovation sandbox presentation segment of the Conclave and for this presentation the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has received the 1st prize in the Innovation Sandbox Presentation.

Previously winning awards:

The SVAMITVA scheme by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has received many recommendations before during various events and the Ministry of Panchayati Raj played a crucial role in the effective implementation of the SVAMITVA scheme.

Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions had organized an event in Madhya Pradesh named the National Awards for e-governance 2023 and in this event the SVAMITVA scheme got the gold prize in the prestigious category “Use of Emerging Technology for Providing Citizen-Centric Services”.

Apart from that, during the Digitech Conclave 2023 which was organized in Goa, the SVAMITVA scheme won the Gold Award in the category “Innovative Use of Technology in e-Governance for Digital Transformation”.

About the SVAMITVA scheme:

For the empowerment of the communities in the rural areas across the country,the Ministry of Panchayati Raj came forward with an ambitious and beneficial scheme called SVAMITVA scheme.

The SVAMITVA scheme was launched on 24th April, 2020 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

SVAMITVA (Survey of villages and mapping with improvised technology in village areas) scheme is a central sector scheme and ensures the proper and accurate demarcation of land parcels by using the methods of GIS mapping Technology and leveraging drone surveys.

With the help of SVAMITVA Scheme property disputes in the rural areas are mitigated and every individual can get rights to the property records.

Under the SVAMITVA scheme, SVAMITVA property cards are being provided to the individuals to monetize the property, enabling the loans from banks and comprehensive planning at the village level. The SVAMITVA Scheme with the technological driven methods helps not only streamline the documentation process but also helps to create a transparent and effective land administration system.

Conclusion:

The SVAMITVA scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has achieved many milestones from the commencement of the scheme. Till now there are 2.90 lakh villages where the drone surveys have been completed and also 1.66 crore property cards have been prepared so far. All villages in Haryana, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Goa are covered with the property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme.
