Ugly spat between the Governor and CM

  • The Governor of Kerala Mr.Arif Mohammad Khan has given the statement against the ruling communist party of India (Marxist) and Chief Minister Mr.Pinarayi Vijayan which created tension between him and the ruling party.
  • Kannur University’s controversial decision to appoint the wife of Mr. Vijayan’s personal secretary to the post of assistant professor and
  • Mr . Khan who is the vice-chancellor of Kannur University is against this move and he decided to hold a full length press conference which crossed the line and damaged the majesty of his office.

  • The CPI and the other parties in the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF),led by Mr. Vijayan criticized the governor’s feelings.
  • The other parties called Mr.Khan a representative of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)
  • Mr Khan’s unmatched criticism of the elected government is inappropriate with the office he holds.
  • Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan lashed out at Governor Arif Mohammed Khan over his statement on alleged nepotism in appointments in the state universities, calling it “absurd”.
  • Khan had raised a hue and cry over the practice of state pensions to political appointees who serve as the personal staff of the Ministers.
  • Khan has now engaged in conflict with the LDF over governance questions related to Universities and he also said that he will not be signing the two acts one is of Lok Ayukta and other is of higher education.
  • Both the CM and the governor should solve this matter in a very calm manner and with the motive of the state’s development.
