54,378 Qualify JEE (Advanced); 9,404 Women Among Successful Candidates

  • Delhi zone’s Rajit Gupta secured the top rank in the Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced) for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), as announced on Monday.
  • As per IIT-Kanpur officials, the conducting body for this year’s JEE (Advanced), a total of 1,80,422 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 on May 18.
  • Out of the total candidates who appeared, 54,378 have qualified the exam, and among them, 9,404 are female candidates, according to the statement released by an official.
  • Rajit Gupta from Kota topped the common rank list (CRL) by scoring an impressive 332 out of 360 marks, securing the highest rank across the country.
  • Devdutta Majhi, representing the IIT-Kharagpur zone, was the highest-ranking female candidate, achieving a CRL of 16 with a score of 312 marks.
  • The JEE-Main examination serves as the qualifying test for appearing in JEE (Advanced), which is held for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at the IITs across India.
  • A total of 116 foreign candidates registered and appeared for the JEE (Advanced) exam this year, and 13 among them successfully qualified the competitive test.
