  1. Torment (verb)

Meaning: cause to experience severe mental or physical suffering. (यातना)

Synonyms: torture, afflict, harrow

Antonyms: comfort, joy, pleasure

Sentence: He was tormented by nightmares about the accident.

  1. Forged (adj.)

Meaning: copied fraudulently; fake. (जाली)

Synonyms: fake, false, inauthentic

Antonyms: genuine, real, true

Sentence: They have illegally entered the UK using forged travel documents.

  1. Laden (adj.)

Meaning: heavily loaded or weighed down. (भार रखन हुआ)

Synonyms: loaded, burdened, overloaded

Antonyms: unload, lighten, relieve

Sentence: Dragging the fully laden boat across the sand dunes was no mean feat.

  1. Stature (noun)

Meaning: a person’s natural height. (क़द)

Synonyms: height, size, build

Sentence: He is small in stature.

  1. Supplant (verb)

Meaning: supersede and replace. (हटाना)

Synonyms: replace, displace, supersede

Antonyms: restore, sustain, hold

Sentence: He was hanged for plotting to supplant the king.

  1. Bolstering (verb)

Meaning: support or strengthen; prop up. (सशक्त)

Synonyms: strengthen, support, boost

Antonyms: undercutting, undermining, weakening

Sentence: The fall in interest rates is starting to bolster confidence.

  1. Dissent (noun)

Meaning: expressing or holding opinions at variance with those previously, commonly, or officially held. (मतभेद)

Synonyms: disagreement, argument, dispute

Antonyms: accord, agreement, concord

Sentence: There was no dissent from this view.

  1. Expropriation (noun)

Meaning: the action by the state or authority to take property from its owner for public use or benefit. (ज़ब्त)

Synonyms: seizure, takeover, usurpation

Antonyms: release, give up, hand over

Sentence: The current land expropriation system in China needs further reform.

  1. Thwart (verb)

Meaning: prevent (someone) from accomplishing something. (विफल करना)

Synonyms: block, hinder, clog

Antonyms: nurture, promote, encourage

Sentence: He never did anything to thwart his father.

  1. Attorney (noun)

Meaning: a person whose profession is to conduct lawsuits for clients or to advise about legal rights and obligations (न्यायवादी)

Synonyms: jurist, prosecutor, lawmaker

Sentence: The attorney demonstrated that the witness was lying.
