  1. Adduced (verb)

Meaning: cite as evidence. (प्रस्तुत करना)

Synonyms: cite, instance, mention

Sentence: We can adduce evidence to support the claim.

  1. Eminence (noun)

Meaning: fame or recognized superiority, especially within a particular sphere or profession. (श्रेष्ठता)

Synonyms: renown, pre-eminence, notability

Antonyms: inferiority, mediocrity, obscureness

Sentence: Beveridge was a man of great eminence.

  1. Faltering (adj.)

Meaning: losing strength or momentum. (दुर्बलता)

Synonyms: delay, hawing, procrastination

Antonyms: certainty, certitude, confidence

Sentence: The economy is showing signs of faltering.

  1. Confrontation (noun)

Meaning: a hostile or argumentative meeting or situation between opposing parties. (आमना-सामना)

Synonyms: conflict, clash, brush

Antonyms: concord, harmony, peace

Sentence: The government was dragged willy-nilly into the confrontation.

  1. Crumbs (noun)

Meaning: a very small amount of something. (टुकड़ा)

Synonyms: fragment, bit, morsel

Antonyms: abundances, barrels, boatloads

  1. Communique (noun)

Meaning: a published statement informing the public of a matter of general interest (शासकीय सूचना)

Synonyms: advertisement, announcement, bulletin

Sentence: The announcement was made in a communique issued by the Defence Minister.

  1. Scuttled (verb)

Meaning: run hurriedly or furtively with short quick steps. (भागना)

Synonyms: scamper, scurry, scramble

Antonyms: crawled, crept, poked

Sentence: Two very small children scuttled away in front of them.

  1. Umbrage (noun)

Meaning: offense or annoyance. (अपमान)

Synonyms: take offense, be offended, be affronted

Antonyms: appeasement, mollification, pacification

Sentence: She took umbrage at his remarks.

  1. Fomented (verb)

Meaning: instigate or stir up (an undesirable or violent sentiment or course of action). (भड़काना)

Synonyms: instigate, incite, provoke

Antonyms: allay, calm, settle

Sentence: They accused him of fomenting political unrest.

  1. Armistice (noun)

Meaning: an agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop fighting for a certain time; a truce. (युद्धविराम)

Synonyms: truce, ceasefire, treaty

Antonyms: conflict, hostilities, war

Sentence: Both sides in the conflict agreed to an armistice during the solemn holy

days.
