‘Vocabulary’
- Mettle (noun)
Meaning: a person’s ability to cope well with difficulties or to face a demanding situation in a spirited and resilient way. (उत्साह)
Synonyms: spirit, fortitude, tenacity
Antonyms: cowardice, cravenness, dastardliness
Sentence: The team showed their true mettle in the second half.

Meaning: public shame or disgrace. (बदनामी)
Synonyms: shame, humiliation, embarrassment

- Banter (noun)
Meaning: the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks. (मज़ाक)

- Morose (adj.)
Meaning: sullen and ill-tempered. (उदास)
Synonyms: sullen, sulky, gloomy
Antonyms: cheerful, joyous, jolly

Meaning: kill (someone) by depriving them of air. (गला घोंटना)

- Scrupulous (adj.)
Meaning: (of a person or process) diligent, thorough, and extremely attentive to details. (ईमानदार)

Antonyms: dishonest, atrocious, immoral
Sentence: Not all lawyers are as scrupulous as she is.
- Dogma (noun)
Meaning: a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true. (सिद्धांत)

Sentence: The newspaper seeks to be independent of political dogma.
- Aloof (adj.)
Meaning: not friendly or forthcoming; cool and distant. (अलग)
Synonyms: distant, detached, unresponsive
Antonyms: cordial, friendly, sociable
Sentence: They were courteous but faintly aloof.
