Vocabulary
1. Incendiary (Noun) – Trick: Insane + Dia
Meaning: A criminal who illegally set fires to property (आग लगानेवाला)
Synonyms: Pyromaniac, Flamer, Ignite
Antonyms: Peacemaker, Reconciler
Sentence: The soldiers were trained to deal with incendiary attacks.
2. Appall (verb) – Trick: A + Pale
Meaning: To shock somebody (डरा देना)
Synonyms: Shock, shake up, Astonish
Antonyms: Delight, Gratify, Rejoice
Sentence: I was appalled by what I saw.
3. Shatter (Verb) – Trick: Shutter
Meaning: Break into many pieces (टूटने)
Synonyms: Annihilate, Decimate, Demolish
Antonyms: Fix, Mend, Revamp
Sentence: A failure would shatter the hopes of many people.
4. Battered (Adj.) – Trick: bat se tar tar mara
Meaning: Damaged by blows or hard usage (चकनाचूर)
Synonyms: Bashed, Beat, Buffeted, Assault
Antonyms: Undamaged, Unabused
Sentence: He was battered to death.
5. Animosity (Noun) – Trick: Enemy + City
Meaning: A strong feeling of anger or dislike (दुश्मनी)
Synonyms: Animus, Antipathy, Vendetta
Antonyms: Amiability, Cordial, Friendliness
Sentence: There is no personal animosity between the party leaders.
6. Unequivocal (Adj.) – Trick: equal + voice
Meaning: Leaving no doubt, unambiguous (स्पष्ट)
Synonyms: Apparent, Clear, Cognizable
Antonyms: Incomprehensible, Cloudy, Cryptic
Sentence: The answer to our request was an unequivocal ‘no’.
7. Behest (Noun) – Trick: Behest or request
Meaning: An authoritative command or request (आज्ञा)
Synonyms: Charge, Command, Decree
Antonyms: Appeal, Petition, Plea
Sentence: The arrested him at the King’s behest.
8. Incubate (Verb) – Trick: In + Cube (Egg)
Meaning: Grow under conditions that promote development (सेते)
Synonyms: Brood, cover, Hatch
Antonyms: Forbid, Outlaw, Prohibit
Sentence: The time needed for the eggs to incubate is nine or ten days.
9. Incite (verb) – Trick: Incite and Excite
Meaning: Give an incentive for action (उत्तेजित)
Synonyms: Instigate, Ferment, Provoke
Antonyms: Bridle, Constrain, Hold
Sentence: The party agreed not to incite its supporters to violence.
10. Instigate (verb) – Trick: Institute + Gate
Meaning: Provoke or stir up (भड़काना)
Synonyms: Incite, Abet, Ferment, Advance
Antonyms: Bridle, Constrain, Curb
Sentence: The government will instigate new measures to combat terrorism.
