‘Vocabulary’
- Earmarked (verb)
Meaning: designate (something, typically funds or resources) for a particular purpose. (अनुदान देना)
Synonyms: set aside, lay aside, set apart
Antonyms: throw away, ignore, neglect
Sentence: The new money will be earmarked for cancer research.
- Callous (adj.)
Meaning: showing or having an insensitive and cruel disregard for others. (कठोर)
Synonyms: heartless, unfeeling, uncaring
Antonyms: caring, kind, merciful
Sentence: His callous comments about the murder made me shiver.
- Laud (verb)
Meaning: praise (a person or their achievements) highly, especially in a public context. (प्रशंसा करना)
Synonyms: praise, extol, hail
Antonyms: abhor, criticize, despise
Sentence: The obituary lauded him as a great statesman and soldier.
- Thronged (verb)
Meaning: (of a crowd) fill or be present in (a place or area). (भीड़)
Synonyms: mob, jostle, pack (into)
Sentence: Fans thronged the field to celebrate the win.
- Brunt (noun)
Meaning: the worst part or chief impact of a specified thing. (चोट)
Synonyms: force, impact, shock
Antonyms: ease, peace, relaxation
Sentence: Education will bear the brunt of the cuts.
- Ulterior (adj.)
Meaning: existing beyond what is obvious or admitted; intentionally hidden. (गुप्त)
Synonyms: hidden, secret, undisclosed
Antonyms: expressed, known, public
Sentence: Could there be an ulterior motive behind his request?
- Ruckus (noun)
Meaning: a disturbance or commotion. (हंगामा)
Synonyms: brawl, bother, hubbub
Antonyms: peace, calm, harmony
Sentence: A child is raising a ruckus in class.
- Miser (noun)
Meaning: a person who hoards wealth and spends as little money as possible. (कंजूस)
Synonyms: penny-pincher, niggard, scrooge

- Gust (noun)
Meaning: a brief, strong rush of wind. (झोंका)
Synonyms: flurry, blast, puff
Antonyms: calm, quiet, trickle
Sentence: The car rocked slightly with a gust of wind.
- Pal (noun)
Meaning: a friend. (दोस्त)
Synonyms: friend, companion, comrade
Antonyms: enemy, foe, opponent
Sentence: Look, pal, I don’t want you hanging around.
