‘Vocabulary’
- Bulwark (noun)
Meaning: a defensive wall. (बांध)
Synonyms: wall, rampart, fortification
Sentence: Our people’s support is a bulwark against the enemy.
- Languished (verb)
Meaning: (of a person or other living thing) lose or lack vitality; grow weak or feeble. (दुर्बल होना)
Synonyms: weaken, grow weak, deteriorate
Antonyms: rebounded, recovered, recuperated
Sentence: He languished in poverty for years.
- Dismal (adj.)
Meaning: depressing; dreary. (निराशाजनक)
Synonyms: dingy, dim, dark
Antonyms: cheering, cheery, glad

- Explicable (adj.)
Meaning: able to be accounted for or understood. (समझाने के योग्य)
Synonyms: explainable, interpretable, definable
Antonyms: inexplicable, insoluble, insolvable

- Gist (noun)
Meaning: the substance or essence of a speech or text. (सार)
Synonyms: essence, substance, quintessence
Sentence: she noted the gist of each message
- Decimation (noun)
Meaning: the state or fact of being rendered non-existent (बरबादी)
Synonyms: annihilation, demolishment, demolition
Antonyms: building, construction, protection
Sentence: The virtual decimation of the coastal town was caused by the hurricane.
- Ascendancy (noun)
Meaning: occupation of a position of dominant power or influence. (प्रभुत्व)
Synonyms: dominance, domination, supremacy
Antonyms: impotence, impotency, powerlessness
Sentence: He slowly gained ascendancy in the group.
- Vacate (verb)
Meaning: leave (a place that one previously occupied). (खाली)
Synonyms: leave, get out of, move out of
Antonyms: fill, load

- Grapple (verb)
Meaning: engage in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle. (मुठभेड)
Synonyms: wrestle, struggle, tussle
Antonyms: concord, harmony, peace
Sentence: Two sumo wrestlers were grappling like a pair of mammoth bears.
- Rabid (adj.)
Meaning: having or proceeding from extreme or fanatical support of or belief in something. (विक्षिप्त)
Synonyms: extreme, fanatical, overzealous
Antonyms: delighted, pleased
Sentence: Even the survey’s most rabid critics acknowledge the utility of this kind of data.
