‘Vocabulary’
- Enliven (verb)
Meaning: make (something) more entertaining, interesting, or appealing. (सजीव करना)
Synonyms: brighten up, make more interesting, make more exciting
Antonyms: dampen, deaden, dull
Sentence: How can we enliven this party?
- Meekly (adv.)
Meaning: in a quiet, gentle, and submissive manner. (नर्मी से)
Synonyms: abjectly, deferentially, modestly
Antonyms: arrogantly, audaciously, boldly
Sentence: Most have meekly accepted such advice.
- Strolls (noun)
Meaning: a short leisurely walk. (घूमना)
Synonyms: saunter, amble, wander
Sentence: we took a stroll in the garden
- looming (verb)
Meaning: appear as a shadowy form, especially one that is large or threatening. (उभरते)
Synonyms: emerge, appear
Antonyms: abating, declining
Sentence: Rain clouds were looming on the horizon.
- Expediency (noun)
Meaning: the quality of being convenient and practical despite possibly being improper or immoral; convenience. (मुनाफ़ा)
Synonyms: convenience, advantage, usefulness
Antonyms: imprudence, inadvisability, inexpedience
Sentence: The government is torn between principle and expediency.
- Egregious (adj.)
Meaning: outstandingly bad; shocking. (प्रबल)
Synonyms: shocking, appalling, horrific
Antonyms: imperceptible, inconspicuous, unnoticeable
Sentence: It was an egregious error for a statesman to show such ignorance.
- Subsist (verb)
Meaning: maintain or support oneself, especially at a minimal level. (गुजारा करना)
Synonyms: survive, endure, stay alive
Antonyms: perish, die, expire
Sentence: Thousands of refugees subsist on international handouts.
- Rummage (verb)
Meaning: search unsystematically and untidily through a mass or receptacle. (चप्पा चप्पा छान मारना)
Synonyms: search, explore,
Antonyms: hide, abandon

- Veneration (noun)
Meaning: a feeling or act of great respect, admiration, or devotion (उपासना)
Synonyms: reverence, respect, worship
Antonyms: condemnation, disapproval, disdain
Sentence: Holy relics are often objects of veneration.
- Taciturn (adj.)
Meaning: (of a person) reserved or uncommunicative in speech; saying little. (अल्पभाषी)
Synonyms: untalkative, uncommunicative, reticent
Antonyms: blabby, chatty, talkative
Sentence: He was a quiet, almost taciturn, young man.
