‘Vocabulary’
- Solitude (noun)
Meaning: the state or situation of being alone. (अकेलापन)
Synonyms: loneliness, solitariness, remoteness
Antonyms: camaraderie, companionship, company
Sentence: She savored her few hours of freedom and solitude.
- Retribution (noun)
Meaning: punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act. (प्रतिदण्ड)
Synonyms: punishment, penalty, nemesis
Antonyms: clemency, grace, leniency
Sentence: They fled because they feared retribution for the genocide.
- Diffusely (adv.)
Meaning: in a detailed way. (विस्तारपूर्वक)
Synonyms: verbosely, wordily, redundantly
Antonyms: briefly, compactly, concisely

- Discernment (noun)
Meaning: the ability to judge well. (सूझ-बूझ)
Synonyms: judgment, refinement, perception
Antonyms: foolishness, idiocy, imbecility

- Repentance (noun)
Meaning: the action of repenting; sincere regret or remorse. (पछतावा)
Synonyms: remorse, contrition, contriteness
Antonyms: impenitence, remorselessness
Sentence: Confession is the first step to repentance.
- Diatribe (noun)
Meaning: a forceful and bitter verbal attack against someone or something. (अभियोगात्मक भाषण)
Synonyms: tirade, harangue, verbal onslaught
Antonyms: encomium, eulogy, panegyric
Sentence: The book is a diatribe against the academic left.
- Obstinate (adj.)
Meaning: stubbornly refusing to change one’s opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so. (जिद्दी)
Synonyms: stubborn, headstrong, intransigent
Antonyms: acquiescent, agreeable, amenable
Sentence: He was the most obstinate man I’ve ever met.
- Gullible (adj.)
Meaning: easily persuaded to believe something; credulous. (भोला)

- Ephemeral (adj.)
Meaning: lasting for a very short time. (अल्पकालिक)
Synonyms: transitory, transient, fleeting
Antonyms: eternal, everlasting, endless

- Diaphanous (adj.)
Meaning: (especially of fabric) light, delicate, and translucent. (पारदर्शक)
Synonyms: sheer, fine, ultra-fine
Antonyms: opaque, cloudy, foggy
Sentence: The little light fades the immense and diaphanous shadows.
