‘Vocabulary’
- Veritable (adj.)
Meaning: formal true or real —used to emphasize a description (सच्चा)
Synonyms: authentic, genuine, real
Antonyms: doubtful, dubious, equivocal
Sentence: The area is a veritable paradise for those who love walking
- Voluminous (adj.)
Meaning: of a size greater than average of its kind (विशाल)
Synonyms: big, large, bulky
Antonyms: dinky, dwarf, little
Sentence: The voluminous report has been sent to council.
- Consonance (noun)
Meaning: agreement or compatibility between opinions or actions. (समझौता)
Synonyms: agreement, concord, accord
Antonyms: discordance, disproportion, disunity
Sentence: These results are consonance with human’s experiences.
- Revanchism (noun)
Meaning: a policy of seeking to retaliate, especially to recover lost territory. (प्रतिशोध)
Synonyms: revenge, vengeance, reprisal
Sentence: But we also know that revanchism is never-ending.
- Buzzword (noun)
Meaning: a word or phrase, often an item of jargon, that is fashionable at a particular time or in a particular context. (मूलमंत्र)
Sentence: The latest buzzword in international travel is “ecotourism”.
- Vibrancy (noun)
Meaning: the state of being full of energy and life. (फुरतीला)
Synonyms: active, vibrant, exuberance
Antonyms: inactivity, lifelessness, laziness
Sentence: She was a woman with extraordinary vibrancy and extraordinary knowledge.
- Muddled (adj.)
Meaning: in a state of bewildered or bewildering confusion or disorder. (अव्यवस्थित)
Synonyms: disarranged, disarrayed, disordered
Antonyms: kempt, ordered, organized
Sentence: Their letters were all muddled up together in a drawer.
- Offing (noun)
Meaning: time that is to come (आने वाला समय)
Synonyms: by-and-by, future, hereafter
Antonyms: past, posterity
Sentence: Major changes are in the offing for the company.
- Interlocutor (noun)
Meaning: a person who takes part in a dialogue or conversation. (वार्ताकार)
Synonyms: dialogist, conversationalist, speaker
Sentence: Abraham was able to act as interpreter and interlocutor for our group.
- Jaded (adj.)
Meaning: tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something. (थका हुआ)
Synonyms: exhausted, fatigued, knackered
Antonyms: active, energetic, invigorated
Sentence: You look very jaded; you need a holiday.
