The Intelligence Bureau, better known by abbreviation IB, is India’s domestic intelligence, internal security and counter-intelligence agency. It is reputed to be the oldest such organization in the world. Arvind Kumar, the current director of the IB, took over from Rajiv Jain on 26 June 2019. the IB is used to garner intelligence from within India and also execute counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism tasks In addition to domestic intelligence responsibilities, the IB is particularly tasked with intelligence collection in border areas.Every year, Intelligence Bureau (IB) releases the notifications for the recruitment of Security Assistant.
♦IB Security Assistant Exam Pattern
Intelligence Bureau (IB)Security Assistant Exam will be conducted in 3 phases. The exam is –
- Tier-I (Prelims Examination)
- Tier-II (Mains Examination)
- Interview/Personality Test
Stage-1: IB Security Assistant Preliminary Examination:
This is an online exam where candidates have to solve the question paper in 2 hour for 100 marks. The test comprises of 4 sections. The section-wise distribution of the marks is given below:

The Aspirant who qualified in Mains is shortlisted for Interview. The Aspirant is selected on bases of their performance in Tier 1, Tier 2 and Interview.
