India unveiled logo, theme and website of G20 presidency

India is going to assume the presidency of the powerful grouping from the current chair Indonesia on December 1. India’s upcoming presidency of the G20 grouping is a matter of pride and a great opportunity for the country in its 75th year of Independence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the logo, theme and website of India’s G20 presidency during an online event recently.

G20 or Group of 20:

Current Chairman: Joko Widodo (Indonesia)

The G20 or Group of 20 is an intergovernmental forum of the major developed and developing economies of the world.

It consist 19 countries and the European Union. In G20 Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US and the European Union (EU) are included.

This group addresses the challenges and major issues pertaining to the global economy such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation and sustainable development.

Logo and theme of G20 presidency:

India unveiled the logo for G20 presidency. The logo is Earth juxtaposed with the lotus.

The logo of lotus is representing the hope in a time of crisis and chaos in the world. We (world) can be on progress even if the world is in a deep crisis and make the world a better place.

India has released its G20 presidency theme as “Vasudhaiva Kutumba-kam” or “One Earth One Family One Future”.

Narendra Modi remarked during an event that India’s development journey is the contribution of all governments and people in their own way.

Now India could show the world that the scope of conflict arrived to an end when democracy becomes a culture.

The development and the environment (Pragati and Prakriti) are walking together for emphasising sustainable development.

The unveiled logo, theme and website of India’s G20 presidency reflects the country’s “message and overarching priorities” to the world.

G20 Summit:

The G20 summit is going to be held in Bali, Indonesia on November 15 and 16.

The ongoing G20 summit in Bali is set to be among top leaders attending it and Narendra Modi, PM of India is one the top leaders among it to attend the summit.

Importance of G20:

The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation comprising around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.

India is currently part of the G20 Troika (current, previous and incoming G20 presidencies) consisting Indonesia, Italy and India.
