Liz Truss becomes the upcoming Prime Minister of UK
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss becomes the next Prime Minister of The United Kingdom by defeating Indian origin Rishi Sunak, chancellor of UK. There were high expectations from Rishi to win the election but the predictions got wiped away and recently the conservative party announced Liz Truss as the next Prime Minister,the top position of the country, of the UK.
It was announced by the conservative party of the UK that British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will become the next leader of the party and has won the intra party contest. She got a total of 57 percent vote or 81,236 votes against the Indian origin chancellor of the UK,Rishi Sunak who got a vote share of 42 percent or 60,399 votes. She also got a 82 percent vote share of the conservative party’s members voting.
Rishi Sunak, who resigned from the cabinet during Boris Johnson’s term as Prime Minister of the UK, couldn’t make it this time. Although Liz Truss stayed in the cabinet during the former Prime Minister of the country, it became the reason for her popularity against Rishi Sunak.
Queen Elizabeth II invited her at Balmoral Castle in Scotland to form a new government of the country. It is an honour to congratulate Liz Truss for her victory. Furthermore she will become the 56th Prime Minister of the UK and third female Prime Minister of the country.
Liz Truss thanked the conservative party for her victory over Rishi Sunak. She appreciated the efforts of the party to conduct the longest interview in the history that was continued since the resignation of several ministers during the term of former Prime Minister of the country.
The upcoming Prime Minister of the UK ,Liz Truss, addressed the ongoing hardships of the country in the event in London. She acknowledged the high inflation rate, energy bill crisis, fuel poverty, bad ever recession and the impact of war between Ukraine and Russia. She assured to take appropriate actions as soon as the starting of her tenure to deal with these problems of the UK.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Liz Truss for her victory in the election of the Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak also thanked those who had voted for him through a tweet.
