To give assurance of the safety to the passengers, the Indian railways with the coordination of Railway Protection Force has launched a pan India drive under the code name Operation Yatri Suraksha. Under this operation the Indian railways make sure that all grievances related to the belongings and other personal security of the passengers of Indian railways will be resolved at instant with the help of new technologies and quick responses.
Many passengers feel discomfort while traveling with the trains such as losing and thefting of their belongings, chain snatching, and facing drug related crime. By the proper implementation of this operation named Operation Yatri Suraksha these issues can be resolved.
Few details of the operation:
To encourage this Operation Yatri Suraksha,Indian railways launched a month ago pan India drive which would investigate all crimes that happened with the passengers of Indian railways in the month of July 2020. In these cases there are chain snatching, lost belongings, drug dealing and other crimes were reported.
There were a total number of 365 suspects which were arrested by RPF for these crimes such as theft of passengers’ belongings, chain snatching, drug dealings and robbery etc. The properties which were stolen by these criminals were worth around 1cr according to the data provided by the Indian railways. This value was recovered from the possession of these guilty criminals and through investigation.
