  1. Coax (verb)

Meaning: To get (someone) to do something by gentle urging, special attention, or flattery (मनाना)

Synonyms: cajole, urge, flatter

Antonyms: tease, harass, demand

Sentence: Perhaps you could coax your father into taking you to the station

Meaning: Requiring considerable physical or mental effort (कठिन)

Meaning: To cause persistent suffering to (पीड़ित)

Synonyms: plagued, persecuted, afflicted

Antonyms: assisted, helped, aided

  1. Fugitive (adj.)

Meaning: Hard to find, capture, or isolate (भगोड़ा)

Synonyms: elusive, evasive, transient

Antonyms: flash, temporary, transient

Sentence: That fugitive trait called artistic creativity

  1. Ominous (adj.)

Meaning: Being or showing a sign of evil or calamity to come (अशुभ)

Synonyms: sinister, menacing, bleak

Antonyms: favorable, bright, promising

Sentence: That comment about downsizing from the company president sounded ominous.

  1. Sombre (adj.)

Meaning: Being without light or without much light (निराशाजनक)

Synonyms: darkened, dark, murky

Antonyms: light, bright, brilliant

Sentence: The prison’s sombre interrogation room has the desired effect of striking fear and despair into the prisoner.

  1. Glitzy (adj.)

Meaning: Excessively showy (चमकदार)

Synonyms: flashy, fancy, overbright

Antonyms: elegant, appropriate, unflashy

Sentence: Palm Springs has luxurious restaurants and glitzy nightlife.

  1. Abhor (verb)

Meaning: To dislike strongly (घृणा करना)

Synonyms: hate, despise, detest

Antonyms: love, like, prefer

Sentence: I abhor all forms of racism.

  1. Pithy (adj.)

Meaning: Marked by the use of few words to convey much information or meaning (सारगर्भित)

Synonyms: concise, brief, summary

Antonyms: wordy, prolix, circuitous

Sentence: His pithy advice to young painters was, “Above all, keep your colours fresh.”

  1. Vague (adj.)

Meaning: Not expressed in precise terms (अस्पष्ट)

Synonyms: unclear, ambiguous, fuzzy

Antonyms: specific, explicit, clear

Sentence: Gave as vague a reply as he could, hoping not to give away the surprise.
