♦Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2019
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2019, a massive countrywide awareness and mobilization campaign on Swachhata at Mathura.
- Aims: ‘Plastic waste awareness and management’ is being organized from 11th September to October 2nd 2019, as the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) is poised to dedicate an ODF India to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.
♦PM Modi to launch National Animal Disease Control Programme
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for eradicating the foot and mouth disease and brucellosis in livestock .
- Aims: Vaccinating over 500 million livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs against the FMD. Also Vaccinating 36 million female bovine calves annually in its fight against the brucellosis disease
- Project Cost: ₹12,652 crores for a period of five years till 2024, will be funded entirely by the government. The programme, to be launched in Mathura, aims to control the livestock diseases by 2025 and eradicate these by 2030.
♦Gurugram Police ties up with Google for traffic updates
- The Gurugram traffic police have tied up with Google maps for dissemination of traffic related information in real time for public use.
- The information such as planned road closures, diversions, traffic alerts regarding road crash etc. is now shared by Gurugram traffic police with Google maps. Based on the information shared by the traffic police, Google maps immediately updates the information on its public maps.

♦Typhoon Faxai hits Tokyo, Japan
- Japanese utility company, Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco), is struggling to restore power to nearly half a million homes after blackouts caused by Typhoon Faxai.
- Typhoon Faxai hit the capital and surrounding regions with destructive winds of up to 216km/h.

♦ASEAN free-trade agreement amid rising imports fear
- India and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) on 10 September agreed to review their free-trade agreement (FTA) amid criticism from the domestic industry that the deal was helping imports rise much faster than exports.
- The decision was taken during a meeting between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit, representing Asean, in Bangkok.

- Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, will be inducted into the 2019 Asia Pacific Golf Hall Of Fame.Dr. Munjal joins legendary golfers such as Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and more on this list.
- Munjal is one of the biggest promoters of golf, football, field hockey and cricket not only in India but around the globe as well.

♦DRDO successfully flight-tests indigenously developed MPATGM missile
- In a major boost for Indian Army, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on 11 September successfully flight tested indigenously developed low weight, fire and forget Man Portable Antitank Guided Missile (MPATGM) in the ranges of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
- The missile was launched from a man portable Tripod launcher and the target was mimicking a functional tank. The missile hit the target in top attack mode and destroyed it with precision.
