♦PM Modi launches Mumbai Metro coach under the Make in India initiative
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 7 September launched a slew of metro projects in Maharashtra’s Mumbai and launched a metro coach built indigenously under the Make in India programme.
- PM Modi inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crore.

♦Gujarat government signs Sister State MoU with American State Delaware
- Gujarat government signs Sister State MoU with American State Delaware.
- Gujrat is first sister state MoU signed t with any state of America, said the State government note adding that the MoU was signed by Gujarat Chief Minister and Delaware’s Secretary of State.
- Among the sectors of possible cooperation discussed were biotechnology university, bio sciences, financial services, cooperate services, animal husbandry and dairy activities, port services.

♦Fourth Indian Ocean Conference 2019 held in Male
- Fourth Indian Ocean Conference two-day (September 3-4) in the Maldives capital Male.
- Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is in Male for the Fourth Indian Ocean Conference 2019, being organised by India Foundation, in association with the Government of Maldives and the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore. Jaishankar is one of the speakers at the event.
- Fourth Indian Ocean Conference 2019 Theme – “Securing the Indian Ocean Region: Traditional and Non-Traditional Challenges”.

♦ICC appointed Jonathan Hall as its General Counsel
- The International Cricket Council (ICC) on 6 September appointed Jonathan Hall, who has legal experience of 27 years across sports such as football and rugby, as it’s General Counsel and Company Secretary.
- He worked for The Football Association (The FA) for 11 years firstly as the Director of Governance overseeing all regulatory and governance matters and later as the Director of the Football Services Division.

♦Indo-Lanka Joint Naval Exercise SLINEX 2019
- Sri Lankan Navy is sending two ships SLNS Sindurala and Suranimala to India to participate in the SLINEX 2019, the joint maritime naval exercise with the Indian Navy.
- The annual Joint Indo-Lanka maritime fleet exercise – SLINEX 2019 is scheduled to be held in port of Visakhapatnam on 7 September.
- Both navies to rehearse and improve own capabilities and enhance operational effectiveness required to maintain maritime security in the Indian Ocean region.

- Charles Leclerc held onto pole position in an absorbing race to claim a second consecutive race win and give Ferrari a first Italian GP triumph since 2010.
- The other Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas was third, ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo.

♦Ram Jethmalani former union minister, dies at 95
- Senior lawyer and jurist Ram Jethmalani died at his home in Delhi. He was the union law minister and in the National Democratic Alliance government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
